How is Onyx formed? Onyx is natural stone that is formed by quartz, it is used as a gemstone like black Onyx, yellow Onyx and Brazilian green Onyx, and also translates beautifully into architectural designs like a yellow Onyx décor. Onyx has a fine texture and variety of colors. Onyx is crystalline rock characterized by translucency and veining in concentric bands. The transparency is especially evident when onyx is cut into thin pieces. Onyx is a perfect material when used in combination with light, it brings up its beauty even more. Onyx colors found in reddish brown, red, blue, green, yellow and white.
